""My Group Fitness connection came 12 years ago after having my son. I
discovered the weight gain wasn't going to fall off by itself. Realizing I had issues
with my weight throughout life, I needed to take action. The YMCA was a great
place to start. I pushed myself to attend classes, and tried all of them. My favorite
was kickboxing (no surprise there). Slowly, I started to feel and look healthier.
A few months later, the instructor congratulated me on being so energetic,
hardworking, and determined. The instructor encouraged me to take my talent to
the next level and become an instructor. Me! The one who disliked the gym and
exercise! Four months later, I was in Atlantic City becoming certified to instruct
Group Fitness, Kickboxing, and Step & Strength Training through the Aerobics
and Fitness Association of America.
It is so important to keep fitness fresh and exciting. I strive to keep my class
workouts updated with the newest trends. I attend workshops whenever possible.
Sometimes we get so caught up in our workouts and fitness goals that we forget
exercise also should be fun. When you walk into one of my classes, count on me to
get a little silly. The hard work and dedication from Center members make me love
my job even more!""
